Awards and prizes

Every year the Faculty of Medicine awards the following awards, prizes and honorary titles:

the title of Honorary Professor of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana
the Lavrič Award for outstanding teaching work by teachers and assistants
the Andrej Oton Župančič Award for excellence in research, which goes to teachers, scientists and other staff
the Professor Janez Plečnik Diploma and Award for students with excellent academic results in the subjects Anatomy 1, Anatomy 2, Histology with Embryology, and Pathology
the Oražen Award for graduates of Medicine and Dental Medicine who achieve the best academic results in a particular academic year
a special award for students who achieve a grade average of 9.00 or higher over their entire course of study
the Faculty of Medicine Prešeren Prize and the Faculty of Medicine Prešeren Award for excellence in research.

the title of ‘Honorary Doctor of the university of Ljubljana’ for exceptional achievements in the sciences
and arts
the title of ‘Honorary Senator of the University of Ljubljana’ for important contributions to strengthening peace
and human relations in the world or for valuable contributions to the development of the University of Ljubljana
the title of ‘Professor Emeritus of the University of Ljubljana’ to a retired university professor for
important contributions to the development of science or the humanities and for commitment to teaching and mentoring;
the Golden Plaque of the University of Ljubljana for extraordinary merit in the development of scientific, teaching or artistic creation at the university and for enhancing its reputation
a special commendation for young higher education teachers and staff for exceptional teaching, research and artistic achievements
the ‘Pro Universitate Labacensi’ Plaque to individuals or companies whose funding
or work has made an important contribution to the development of the material resources of the university or to the training of its
staff
the Prešeren Award for students with excellent academic results in research or artistic

a special commendation for students with the best academic achievements
