On the golden jubilee of Plečnik memorials

Last year marks the centenary of the founding of the University of Ljubljana and The Faculty of Medicine. Another important jubilee coincides with it: in 1970, a group of faculty teachers organized the first Memorial Meeting to Janez Plečnik. In December 2019, we were celebrating the fiftieth Memorial and the accompanying Concerts of Medical Doctors.

It is a meeting that laid the foundations for the culture of Slovene professional meetings in the field of medicine and is one of the oldest professional meetings of Slovene doctors.

To mark the Golden Jubilee, a wonderful monograph was published by the Institute of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana in order to provide a review of this long period.

»We will thus be able to save from oblivion an important part of the history of Slovene medicine. Reading the Proceedings, it becomes ever clearer how proud we can be of the Slovene physicians who have led their development. »
