HONORARY AWARDS AND DEGREES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LJUBLJANA IN 2021

The beginning of December has been traditionally known as the University Week, time to celebrate at the University of Ljubljana (UL), the oldest Slovenian institution of higher education.

On this occasion, individuals and teams are awarded for their talent, dedication and innovation across all aspects of university life showing us countless reasons why the University of Ljubljana continues to prosper.

The Faculty of Medicine has again received a number of the University awards this year. The recipients are:

• The title of Honorary Doctor of the University of Ljubljana:

• The UL Golden Plaque for outstanding merits of an individual:
  Asst. Prof. Dr. Tatjana Lejko Zupanc
   
• The UL Golden Plaque for outstanding merits of the group:
  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maja Pohar Perme from  The COVID-19 tracker team
   
• The UL Student Award for special achievements and active participation in the field of extracurricular activities:
  Anka Uršič
   
• The title of Professor Emeritus:
  Prof. Dr. Dominik Gašperšič
  Prof. Dr. Vitomir Vrbič
   
• The best research achievement at the University of Ljubljana, 2021:
  New advanced cellular medication for prostate cancer immunotherapy /by researchers at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, the Celica Institute for Tissues and Cells, the Biomedicine Centre, the Donor Centre of the Ljubljana University Medical Centre and the Slovenian Transfusion Medicine Institute.
