How do toxins from microbial pathogens damage plant membranes?

The researchers from the Faculty of Medicine, University of  Ljubljana,  Dr Mojca Mally and Dr Jure Derganc  have developed a new microfluidic method for analyzing the interactions of toxins with plant membranes. The article reveals the unique molecular mechanism underlying the membrane damage induced by the cytotoxic model NLP. NLP-producing pathogens infect a wide range of important crops, including potato, tomato, soybean, grapevine, and tobacco.
