The workshop »Importance of Biobanking in Biomarker Discovery«

The Programme Group “Functional Genomics and Biotechnology for Health” of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana and the TRENDO Consortium are organising the hybrid workshop entitled »Importance of Biobanking in Biomarker Discovery« on October 19-20, 2023 in City hotel in Ljubljana, Slovenia and online. Admission is free, and the official language of the symposium is English.

The aim of this workshop is to share knowledge and expertise in biobanking and raise awareness of the importance of biobanking in minimising pre-analytical biases that can affect biomarker discovery. The workshop will include presentations from various EU biobanks, talks focusing on pre-analytical bias in biomarker discovery, omics approaches for biomarker discovery, experiences of the TRENDO consortium, and a presentation on the current state of biobanking in Slovenia.
