Predavanje "DEVELOPMENTS IN MYELOPROLIFERATIVE NEOPLASMS"
Prof. Mary Frances McMullin, dr. med., hematologinja iz Queen’s University Belfast, Belfast UK, bo predstavila predavanje z naslovom »DEVELOPMENTS IN MYELOPROLIFERATIVE NEOPLASMS«. Predavanje bo potekalo v torek, 10. oktobra 2023, ob 14:30, v sejni dvorani na Zemljemerski ulici 12 kot 167. predavanje Slovenskega biokemijskega društva v sklopu gostovanja na Inštitutu za biokemijo in molekularno genetiko, Medicinske fakultete Univerze v Ljubljani. Predavanje bo potekalo v angleškem jeziku.
POVZETEK PREDAVANJA
The diagnostic criteria for Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs) are reviewed regularly by the WHO and others. As regards developments in the treatment of MPNs, clinical trials introduce new treatments and show efficacy of existing treatments. In Polycythaemia Vera (PV) trials in low-risk PV and in high-risk PV introduce agents which may lead to changes in the treatment paradigm. However, it is in Myelofibrosis (MF) that there are major unmet needs for further therapeutic options. New single agents are becoming available and trials of combinations of therapies may open new avenues of therapy. Some of the potential advances in therapy will be discussed.
