Prostorska epidemiologija z osnovami geografskih informacijskih sistemov (GIS)
Opis predmeta
Cilji:
- seznanitev in uporaba prostorske analize v javnem zdravju.
Kompetence:
- študentje se seznanijo z uporabo geografsko informacijskih orodij, ki se uporabljajo v prostorski epidemiologiji.
- študentje poznajo osnove prostorske epidemiologije, GIS in geografskih analiz.
- študentje razumejo pomen uporabe prostorske analize, rezultate znajo prikazati in jih ustrezno interpretirati.
- študentje znajo uporabiti GIS za izdelavo zemljevidov bolezni (npr. breme raka, bolezni dihal), zemljevidov okoljskih in družbenih determinant (npr. onesnaženost ozračja, vode,..).

Course objectives
Goals:
- acquaintance and use of spatial analysis in public health.
Competences:
- students get acquainted with use of geographical information tools used in spatial epidemiology.
- students know the basics of spatial epidemiology, Geografical Information System and geografical analysis.
- students understand the imporatnce of spatial analysis usage, they know how to present and interpret results.
- students know how to use GIS for making maps of diseases (burden of cancer, respiratory diseases), maps of environmental and social determinants (air, water pollution).

URNIK
Urnik bo pripravljen v dogovoru s študenti (izvedba bo organizirana v obdobju od aprila do maja 2021) in sicer 20 ur predavanj, 30 ur seminarjev, in 40 ur samostojnega dela.

Schedule will be prepared in agreement with the students (implementation is planned in period from from April to May 2021).
The subject SPATIAL EPIDEMIOLOGY WITH BASICS IN GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS) is carried out in the form of lectures (20 hours), preparation of seminar protocol and presentation of the seminar (30 hours).
